Your recordings stay yours

KeepTake records and processes video and audio entirely on your own computer. Your recordings are never uploaded to us or anyone else, and the app has no access to your camera or microphone beyond what's needed to record locally while you use it.

What we collect

Purchase data - handled by Polar, our merchant of record (name, email, payment details). We receive your email and order details to provide support and your license key.
License activation - when you activate the app, your license key and a device identifier (your computer's hostname) are sent to our license server (license.deepapps.co) to verify the license and count activations. The app periodically re-verifies the same data. No recording content is ever transmitted.
Website visits - this website (not the app) counts pageviews using our own analytics server at analytics.deepapps.co. It sets no cookies and stores no profile. To count a visitor without identifying one, your IP address and browser version are combined with a secret that is regenerated every day, hashed, and the original values discarded - your IP address is never written to disk. Because that secret changes daily and old ones are deleted, the same visitor cannot be recognised from one day to the next, and past visits cannot be traced back to an IP address afterwards. We record which page was viewed, which site referred you, and whether you downloaded or purchased. That is all, and it never leaves our own server.

What we don't collect

No analytics or tracking inside the app itself, no cookies on this website, no advertising or third-party tracking scripts beyond what Polar needs to run checkout, no cross-site tracking, and no access to your recordings.

If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, this website records nothing at all.

Third parties

We use Polar (Polar Software Inc.) for checkout and payment processing; see the Polar privacy policy for how they handle payment data. License keys are issued and verified by our own license server, and website analytics run on our own analytics server; neither involves a third party, and that data is not shared with anyone else.
